Theses, internships, visits

Opportunities can be available for students who are interested in temporarily joining the Green IC group to work on cutting-edge research topics.

A list of topics of current interest can be obtained by writing to Prof. Alioto. A brief overview of the main topics of interest is available in the Research page.

Students can work under the supervision of Prof. Alioto either at the Green IC group in Singapore, or in other universities, research labs and semiconductor companies in Europe, US and Asia, with which the Green IC group collaborates through research projects.

Typically, interns collaborate on chip design or investigation of ideas that can be then proved on silicon. Among the available options, students can temporarily join the Green IC group to

  • work on their MSc thesis under the supervision of Prof. Alioto
  • visit our group as interns (e.g., summer/MSc/PhD internship).

NUS students can contact Prof. Alioto to setup a meeting and talk in person.

Foreign students sharing our absolute passion for excellence should contact Prof. Alioto via email attaching:

  • undergraduate and M.S. transcripts
  • research statement in the form of a PowerPoint presentation, containing
  • a brief outline of your previous research experience, with emphasis on your personal contribution in every project (including course work) you have participated in
  • current interests and on-going projects
  • past experience with IC design, CAD tools and tapeouts
  • 2 original ideas that you would like to work on (not necessarily circuits, but in the end demonstrated through circuits)
  • 3 references (professors, researchers, industrial designers)
  • funding details (e.g., specify source if self-funded).

Candidates of any nationality are encouraged to explore the wide range of bilateral agreements for additional support between NUS and the University (or between Singapore and the Country) of origin.
