Inaugural workshop of the ST-NUS HELIX Corporate Lab (2026-08-25)

From the Green IC group and the entire ST-NUS HELIX Corp Lab team, our warmest thanks to all the speakers and attendees of the ST-NUS HELIX Corporate Lab inaugural workshop, held at NUS in Singapore on August 25th, 2026.

The workshop brought together researchers, industry experts and innovators from NUS and STMicroelectronics, exploring advances in energy-efficient generative and embodied AI from circuits to architectures and AI models.

The program opened with an overview of the ST-NUS HELIX Corporate Laboratory, presented by Prof. Massimo Alioto. The technical sessions featured a range of topics. The Green IC group presented their work on energy-efficient circuits for hybrid AI fabrics. Prof. Trevor Carlson discussed AI-hardware co-design for high-performance and energy-efficient accelerators.
The workshop also included advances in generative AI models. Prof. Li Haizhou presented innovation on Gen-AI models from training to inference. Prof. Xinchao Wang shared perspectives on AI-assisted design methodologies.

From STMicroelectronics, Dr. Serge Nicoleau provided an overview of systems and technology R&D, followed by Dr. Giuseppe Desoli who shared perspectives on the evolving technology landscape. Dr. Nitin Chawla presented on generative AI acceleration for edge and physical AI, highlighting opportunities to bring AI closer to where data is generated and decisions are made.

The workshop concluded with a brainstorming session, bringing together academia and industry to synergize ideas and identify new opportunities.

Our special thanks go also to IAF, A*STAR, STMicroelectronics and the National University of Singapore for their enthusiastic support. More to come in upcoming workshop editions!
